Don't Get Penalised Get a Handsfree KitFebruary 2007 saw the introduction of new penalties for drivers caught using hand held mobile phones whilst driving.

Fines increased to £60 and 6 points on the drivers license, and consequently new or young drivers face the increased penalty of disqualification.

When cases go to court maximum fines are £1,000 rising to £2,500 for drivers of bus, coach or heavy goods vehicles.

Employers can be prosecuted if employees are required to make or receive mobile phone calls while driving.

New television advertisements in 2008 focus on the consequences of accidents resulting from human behaviour and our desire to communicate using the convenience of mobile phones.

Callers play a vital role in keeping our roads safe and drivers alive, by terminating calls until journeys are over and it’s safe to talk!
